Have you experienced bullying or other abusive conduct in the workplace? If so, you’re not alone. Check out this piece by a UW researcher about their experience, and a recent opinion piece on the rampant problem of bullying in higher education by academic workers at UC San Diego.
In the thousands of organizing conversations we’ve had over the past year, we have heard stories of workplace abuse from many Researchers. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, but can be difficult to stop–particularly when an individual has to take this on alone.
But together through our union, we can develop better resources for supporting each other and for holding perpetrators accountable. By bargaining as equals with the University administration we can negotiate real, enforceable protections that make us safer and more supported in our research.
Voting Ends June 8 at 9am
