Mark the date: May 25th Noon Action- STRIKE decisions and timeline!
This will be our most pivotal union event yet and we need YOU to be part of the decisions! RSVP here!

As you’ll see in the bargaining update below, we saw minuscule movement from UW Admin in bargaining yesterday. The writing is on the wall: UW will not agree to fair contracts unless we MAKE them see the value of our labor.

  • Who: Research Scientists and Engineers, Postdocs, and community supporters
  • What: Decide whether each unit strikes and when
  • When: May 25th at noon
  • Where: Drumheller Fountain

It’s critical that our decisions are made with representation from every corner of UW. Again, please RSVP here and make sure your colleagues are planning to be there as well.

Watch ? here ?  to see our RSE colleagues tell the UW Board of Regents why we are considering strike action.

Bargaining

As of yesterday, below is a comparison of our compensation proposals:

We have one remaining bargaining session scheduled for May 18th. If you’d like to attend, please email contact@uwresearchersunited.org.

  • You can see information about the 44 articles/MOUs we’ve reached agreement on and what we have already tentatively won here.
  • You can see an overview of the articles that we are negotiating here (update coming shortly).

What Else You Can Do
If you haven’t already done so, please reach out to the faculty you work with and make sure they are aware of what is happening in Research Scientist and Postdoc bargaining, and specifically that a strike is a very real possibility (form email 1) (form email 2). Please especially make sure they know that their help is needed to prevent the need for a work stoppage.

Stay Informed
Stay up to date with our latest news and actions by following our social media accounts: TwitterInstagram, and Facebook, and also, reach out if you have any questions.

Additionally, if you’d like to keep up with what’s happening more broadly than just our Research Scientist unit, check out the UAW 4121 email updates. Also we are part of UAW Region 6, which represents over 100,000 people across 9 states.
