Research Scientists and Postdocs Have Officially Paused the Strike
Research Scientists and Postdocs have officially paused our strikes, following a collective decision made at membership meetings & the straw polls. Results of the straw polls that closed this morning are below:
For Research Scientists, 21.5% of the unit voted to continue striking until the end of the ratification vote, and 78.5% voted no.
For Postdocs, 12% of the unit voted to continue striking until the end of the ratification vote, and 88% voted no.
This means that the strike for both units is officially paused pending a successful ratification vote.
RSE Contract Ratification Process
Since we reached a tentative agreement on our contract with UW, we will now begin the ratification process. You can view all of the tentatively agreed upon articles on our website. Here is the plan for our ratification vote:
- There will be information sessions on 6/15, 6/16, and 6/20. Times/RSVP links forthcoming
- The ratification period will be from 6/16 to 6/20 and the vote will be online
- In a parallel process, the RSE contract will be approval by Board of Regents (7/12 or sooner)
